We've been seeing a ton of ads for dating sites this week, offering specials for the holiday weekend and stuff like that. We don't really have anything against the concept of online dating, but some of the commercials are pretty cheesy and/or annoying. Also, we have to laugh at some of them, because...we're us. Some of these sites probably wouldn't quite work out for a group like us.
So, we just wanted to give a shout out to one of those dating sites that you wouldn't necessarily see advertised during Oprah or the evening news: findkinkypeople.com is a new dating site to help kinky people connect. And it's free! We actually wish they would advertise during Oprah.
Has anyone tried an "alternative" dating site? Or want to share any online dating success/horror stories?

While it wasn't through a dating site, I met my boyfriend of almost three years on line, through a forum for a common interest we have. I think one of the hardest parts (discounting it being a long-distance relationship at first) is convincing friends and family that our relationship was still a normal relationship despite how we met... a lot of people don't really understand the whole meeting-someone-on-the-internet thing, and even after we had lived together some people viewed us as "not a real couple."
